Our Play Leading initiative is embedded in our school ethos. At SS Osmund and Andrews RCP, the Play Leader Scheme provides our year 5 pupils with opportunities to develop leadership skills, which then supports them when working with our younger children, facilitating co-operative games.

There are numerous benefits to Play Leading . For example, as well as ensuring break times are happy and fun, the younger members of our school community develop many key skills - for example, they learn how to cooperate and begin to understand the importance of inclusivity. Our Year 5 Play Leaders are encouraged to take responsibility, develop self-organisation skills, increase their confidence and develop high self-esteem. Along with mid-day supervisors, the Play Leading Scheme supports our core values of creating a happy, inclusive environment for all.
